I've never seen a kid so excited about his birthday. Every day before he's even out of bed he asks if its his birthday today. When he goes to bed at night rather than saying "see you in the morning" its "see you at my cupcakes at my party".
In addition to the 15 kids in his playgroup, he's invited everyone he sees to his birthday. He's invited the loan officer who facilitated the car sale, a random girl at the park that we'd never met, the kids next door, some friends of ours and who knows who else - thankfully he doesn't know his address yet.
He's also very specific on what a good birthday party entails and what his must have - white cupcakes with sprinkles, party hats and balloons for all of his friends. He's also picked out the plates - orange plates for the pizza and white plates for the cupcakes.
The big day is Saturday. Or as we have tried to explain today - the next time you eat waffles and bacon (an every Friday night tradition) your birthday will be the next morning.
