Happy Birthday Johnathan - The Big 4!

Happy Birthday to my favorite big boy! You have an limitless energy that is only periodically diminished when you desperately need a nap. This year you have learned to be a better big brother than I ever thought you could be. You have never said an unkind word to Matthew and can often make him happy when even I can't. He belly laughs for you and only you and gave you kisses first before anyone else.

This year you learned to love school. So much so that on those days that you didn't go, you were often a little sad. You learned to write your very long name (sorry about that), recognize others names, your address, to draw people, trees, dogs, rainbows and so much more. You can count to 30, understand days of the week, have learned about photosynthesis and the planets. You love to learn new things.

You are extremely helpful but rarely need my help anymore. You are outgoing as soon as you know someone and have been told by your teachers that you love to talk - a lot about everything.

You started this year know no one in town and now you have an amazing group of friends and playdates. But your favorite friend is still Sam - even though you only see him about once a month.

As in years past, the details of your birthday didn't concern you too much. The success of any party to you is based on how good the cake or cupcake is (you got that from your dad) and having friends over to your house. It would have been so much easier to just go someplace and have it there but you love to entertain (you got that from me) so how could I say no?

We surprised you this year with games, a bounce house, balloons, pinata and of course white cupcakes, with white icing and sprinkles and of course all of your friends.

Happy birthday Johnathan!
(I wish we had a family picture to celebrate with but you despise having your picture taken)
