Happy Critical Mass Day!

Ben and I were just finishing a nice quiet dinner at a neighborhood sushi restaurant in San Francisco last night when I looked out the window and saw a few bicyclists. At first, we thought nothing of it, but they kept coming and coming and coming. About this time, the restaurant emptied out to cheer on the approx 1,000 cyclists taking over the streets of San Francisco. Unicycles, tricked out bikes, bikes with stereos, families and singles. For about 10 minutes all traffic stopped because there was no where for it to go.

Why? Because it was Critical Mass Day of course. The last Friday of the month, cyclists take to the streets of San Fran to promote alternative modes of transportation.

We would have taken a picture, but we thought we were just going to have a nice quiet dinner and didn't plan ahead. What we've learned is you never know what you're going to see in San Francisco.
