Home Sweet Ocean

We bought a house!
After an intense Saturday afternoon of 3 rounds of negotiations and a refrigerator that kept popping in and out of the offer, we finally settled on a price. And as of July 16, assuming there are no hidden issues that come up during inspection, we will have an address again in Kure Beach. Which means one very important thing - I can get a library card again and stop reading all these paperback Thomas the Train books that we brought.
As my mother once told me, there is no perfect house but get one you love. The pros to this house: 3 blocks from the beach, across the street from the pool, on a cul-de-sac, huge screened in porch, major upgrades throughout the house including my coveted pantry and double oven, pristine condition, upstairs laundry and downstairs private office for Ben.
The cons: tiny tiny yard. BUT 3 empty lots border the house and have been empty for 10 years. We're crossing our fingers they stay that way.
The pictures I've posted here are the house, the living room, the guest room/playroom that will eventually have a murphy bed in it for those curious (and yes there are blinds on the doors for privacy), and best of all - the view from the deck - that based on our location - we won't ever lose to a huge house. In fact, we aren't even allowed to plant anything that will grow more than 8 ft tall without getting homeowner approval. Quite the change from Fremont where as long as the police didn't show up, you were pretty happy with the neighbors.
