This morning was my morning to sleep in. I slept a little, read the paper, made a phone call and drank my tea in complete peace.
Yesterday was Ben's morning to sleep in. Ben slept a little and was then woken up by loud knocking on the bedroom door asking for daddy. Ben went back to sleep and was then woken up by a little boy who just needed to say hi to his daddy. This went on and on and on. Ben didn't get much sleeping in. Now I know why...he's the "fun one".
It was the weekend and Johnathan was ready for "the fun one". Since mommy needed some time alone to get the house in order for our upcoming grandparent visit, this was daddy's weekend. "The fun one" had two hikes planned with the wagon, a trip to the pet store (which for a 1-year old is about as good as going to the zoo), lots of playing outside and even an afternoon in the pool. And then there was the ice cream.
When the kiddo and the "fun one" walked through the door, my first thought was that Johnathan had fallen into a large pile of dirt and had eaten some too. His face was black and oddly shinny and his shirt was sploched with black. I got concerned and started asking questions, Ben looked a little sheepish....not to worry, it was cookies and cream. They had shared an ice cream cone.
Honey - next time, get vanilla.....you will be able to sneak in much cleaner.
