Johnathan has been on wild ride during the past week for all of the wedding festivities and despite my big fears, he has performed like an angel - at times, he's been more agreeable than me. He's been cooed over, fussed over, cheeks pinched and passed from hand to hand while we've visited North Carolina. He performed for nearly everyone and stayed awake (and happy) so he wouldn't miss a thing.
But today, he crashed and crashed hard. He slept straight through the night and through his first thunderstorm until 5 am today, went back to sleep until 7 and then took a 4 hour morning nap, 2.5 hour afternoon nap and few short snoozes in between. He even went to sleep without eating his last meal tonight. Just collapsed after his bath. I joined him on a few of those naps.
A few of the MANY highlights:
We got off the cross country flight and heard the people a few rows back exclaim "We didn't know there was a baby on board". Whew!
My father has become the "baby whisperer". Whenever Johnathan fusses, if dad speaks, he quiets down and listens.
Duct tape will have a permanent place in the travel baby bag - for attaching sheets to the window to make darker, to covering up the green light on the smoke detector (this was more for my piece of mind since my child was glowing green).
Pictures will follow when we get back home, but many many thanks to my parents who have been my full time day care and to all those who provided baby equipment so we only had to haul him one full suitcase of stuff across the country (the same one mind you that I can pack for over two weeks in for me and my clothes are much bigger). And no, I didn't overpack. I've used it all, plus some.
