Johnathan isn't the kind of kid that jumps off the high dive or even off the side of the pool into the deep end. He likes the shallow end, wading in one step at a time.
Today, he took a big leap. He engaged another baby in play (or at least as much as a 3 month old can). Previously, he's only been comfortable sitting on my leg, nuzzled into my chest at our playgroup, but watching everything closely. Today, though, he and another baby played footsies at the park.
I gotta give the kid credit. When he was ready to go for it, he was ready. He wasn't intimated at all by this sweet but very huggable baby who was about twice his weight and looked like he could crush him (and only a month older). He just giggled (our newest trick).
